Delhi Traffic Police in response to an email dtd. 15/05/2014 addressed to Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Delhi respond vide their letter No. 3156/TE(D-I) Traffic dtd. 18/06/2014. The letter states "as per Rule 71 (ii) of the Delhi Motor Vehicles Rules, 1993 that 'No advertisement device, figure or writing shall be exhibited on any public service vehicles, same as may be permitted by the State Transport Department by general or specific order' . However, no advertisement can be permitted on private vehicles. The policy on commercial vehicles for advertisement is also under review by Transport Department, GNCT of Delhi."
