An appeal to Indian Railways to withdraw deduction of cancellation fee from wait listed tickets! Cancellation fee from wait listed passengers As per Railway Rules for refund of wait listed tickets which could not be confirmed till preparation of chart:    1. Ticket need to be presented for cancellation half an hour before scheduled departure of train   2. An amount of Rs. 60/- shall be deducted towards clerkage charges which prior to 12.11.2015 was Rs. 30/- Both these rules seem to be anti-consumer. First of all when it is wait listed, why half an hour prior to the departure of train should be stipulated. In case of hard copy of ticket the intending person looks to be penalized as the confirmation or otherwise is known at the time of preparation of chart which in most of the cases is 2-3 hours prior to scheduled departure of train and the person had to rush for its refund and then if the intended person reaches in time, another amount of Rs. 60/- gets d...

Whether it is adapting to Deceptive Trade Practices under hand in glove with Govt. of Haryana PWD Whether Multiple trips are being allowed at toll roads within 24 hrs.? Petition- Airlines must charge only 20 percent of the airfare as cancellation charges

An article titled " Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) need to intervene and frame out policy on cancellation fee chargeable by the Airlines and to withdraw the practice of charging for preferential seat allocation"  was published in this blog on 13/03/2018. A petition has also been created titled "Airlines must charge only 20 pct of ticket value as cancellation charges ". It is felt that we jointly have to raise our voice so that Govt. of India is compelled to intervene and frame a policy to restrict the cancellation fee not more than 20% of the air fare. Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) need to intervene and frame out policy on cancellation fee chargeable by the Airlines and to withdraw the practice of charging for preferential seat allocation                           Recently a ticket booked for Delhi- Ahmedabad-Delhi on 2 nd February 2018 for scheduled Departure on 25 th February 2018 and scheduled return journey on 28 th February 2018 was required to be cancelled on 22 nd February 2018. Surprisingly, the amount of refund by the intended passenger as received was merely Rs. 493/- out of the paid amount of Rs. 6,243/- deducting an amount of Rs. 5,750/-   supposedly to be the cancellation fee.                       Total amount paid:    Rs. 6,243        ...
