Distribution of Electricity in India is governed by Electricity Act 2003 and the State Electricity Regulatory Commissions frames the rules and regulations including benchmarking the services with an objective of looking after interest of the electricity consumers. The supply of electricity in Haryana is through State Owned PSUs namely Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (DHBVN) and Uttari Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Ltd (UHBVN) and the distribution of electricity to the consumers through these licensees  is regulated by Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission (HERC). One of the major problem being encountered by any consumer is the continuity and uninterruptible  supply of the quality electricity to the last mile stone consumer.
